❤️ WHO ARE THE "MOURNERS"? It seems most likely, based on the context of the beatitudes, that Jesus was speaking of all His children.
When we are following Christ, we find ourselves failing short of His glory... and we mourn. When we are in Christ, we are distressed when we see the world so full of hate and confusion, and we mourn. We abide in His love, but we see friends, relatives, and strangers refusing the good news of the Kingdom... and we mourn.
We are pilgrims in a distressed and fallen world. We walk on to the eternal peace of His kingdom on earth, but we cannot ignore the spiritual darkness around us. We mourn!
And then... the good news... we are COMFORTED! We are BLESSED! Praise God!
